my power window will work fine up and down till it gets about 25 mm from the top then i hear a bang noise coming from in the door. rolls up a bit more then bang. bit more then bang it stops about 5mm from the top of the rubber and wont go up any more and before it wouldnt go down i pressed the button a 100 times tried pulling it down as soeone pushed the switch it didnt move a tad..then i hit the up button by accident then i heard a crack and it would roll down freely again. wind back up to get the crack noises again its like real loud noise hard to explain deffently something wrong obviously

sounds like either the two bolts may have come loose or the sliders that make the window go up and down need some grease. Is it the back or front window?

whip the trim off and look at the motor the mech and the window runners and look for obvious obstructions. then with the trim off, wind the window up say inch by inch and look at whats happening, check for flexing and the mech movement. let us know what you find.

Maybe your window regulator, mine was doing the same when nearly at the top, not closing and clicking/banging because the teeth on the cog were worn out. I bought a replacement regulator but you can also weld and grind new teeth to fit, hope this helps.

I know this thread is a bit old, but I'm having the exact same problem. Did anybody find a solution? How much is a new window regulator and where do you get them from? The problem is livable with but it'd be nice if it was fixed
