My 95 VS has started reving excessivley when cold. It only does this when acceleraing as if the clutch is slipping but after a few minutes it starts to get back to normal and runs fine until started from cold again. The problem has seemed to be getting worse over the last few months.
Can anyone tell me if this is a clutch problem or a choke problem or something else ?
Thanks,
Nick
is it manual or auto? have you checked your fluid levels and also checked for error codes?
Checking error codes VR/VS (Revised)
Shouldn't be ur clutch as it would slip instead of causing a car to rev out unless it's automn u mean clutch pack which still no really the cause slipping with the bands, now to answer ur question if automthen inwould check ur gearbox oil and see if it's full, also check for thin oil, brow oil indicating fudged clutch packs, or see if anything chuncky is on the Dipstick, also I would be looking at ur torque converter,
Its an Auto .. Not checked the error codes but just read the link and will give it a go .. thanks
Ok thanks .. i'll check the gearbox oil ..
