Hi Folks, recently I have removed my speedo to replace the small cog which breaks and stops the ks clicking up on it, i cant seem to remove the lead which is connected to the speedo cluster by a small plastic plug (virtually the last thing before its all apart) and wondering if there is a trick to it? I feel like I will break it if I put anymore force on it, also after refitting the speedo needle has dropped down all the way to hitting on the housing of the speedo, the needle works but is abour 20km out now as it drops down past the resting point, can you fix this? should I just buy a new speedo cluster? what are they worth to buy, mine has the tacho so im hoping to get another the same if possible? cheers
use a small flathead to lever the plug off and the speedo needle can be moved all the way in a clock wise direction till you feel resistance. then let it go and keep doing it till it rests on zero
thanks mate its fixed, how hard is the cog to remove from the speedo cluster once its out, looks complicated, cheers again!
depends on how hard you want to make it, from memory just unscrew the side plates with a small phillips and be gentle as hell when pulling it apart. take photos of it before stripping it down so it can assist in puttin git back together
Check out the how to in this link.I just fixed mine the other week,it works perfect again now ,I though it would have been a lot harder to fix than it actually was..

It took me around an hour or so to replace.I cleaned all of the dust out of it while it was apart,so it probably took a bit longer than it usually would.
