Hey mate 18" rims will defiantly fit. Most people and pigs say you cannot go more than 2" bigger than stock rims. This is incorect it goes by your rolling diameter this is why they have lower profile tyres so the rolling diameter stays the same.
Yes but insurance start getting stroppy when thay are more tHAN 2inches from factory size im sure you could fit 20 inch onto a vs,weather is legal or not is another issue? Then insurance take it up another notch by saying thay dont like em any bigger than 2inch up...

depends on state law...
if your worried about it
but in nsw im sure its 2x2
2inch up and 2inch wider than largest factory optional wheel.
so even 19's are ok, as im sure the ss has 17inch factory options
my car was imponded with 18x8 and no one said anything (VS series 1)
not for the wheels for burnoutsthe charge form said "driver accell harshly causing sustained loss of traction for 7 seconds"
ROFL bunch of bankers tires didnt even warm upanyway thats off topic...
The one main thing to consider is your rear wheel alignment if you have irs its an even bigger isue ...
have it checked before you get your wheels (rear toe and camber) or your first set of tires may not last past 10,000ks and @ 800 a set its cheeper to put the camber kit first.
my first set only lasted about 12,000 ks (gemstones from bob jane) verry hard compound tire as well
the tires i got on atm have been there for 30,000ks+ and still have a about another 10,000ks on them (making the $350 camber/toe kit more than worth what it cost me)

This is the same in Vic 2inch up and 2inch's wider. Go to your RTA and ask for the mods booklet for your state it will give you all the info u need and will be correct so you don't need to say I got told I could do it if you get pulled over. Saves alot of hassles.
