Default Replacing stabilising bar rod (front suspension)

I had a bent rod on the left front side of my car thats attatched to the stabliser bar. I took it out and the next day I picked up a second hand one but now it seems like the rod will not fit at all. Do I have to clamp up the suspension or something to get this thing in or what can I do???

    Cheers folks. Pics soon.

edit: pic - yellow part is where I need to fit the rod... there's no leverage.. Do I contract the springs to allow the fit?

You might have to lift the suspension a bit with a jack to get it to fit.

jack the car off the ground, remove that tire, use another jack to jack off the disc (do it slowly) and you will find it will open up the holes

Just seen the piccy... put the pin onto the stabiliser first, then you can compress the suspension
