Vr starting issue

My v6 vr has a strange starting issue.when the engine is cold and i turn the key it just turns over without firing.if i then turn the key back to start and try again it starts straight away. This happens every time, in other words it will only start on the second attempt.
When the engine has warmed up there is no problem. Any advice would be appreciated.

Mine to do this but mines the theft deterNt single I think, um see what error codes u get

mine did that for a week it was the fuel pump on the way out then one night parked it up and wouldnt start the next morning replaced fuel pump all good, i have a vs so the same

Check if it is the fuel pump by listening for it when first turning the ignition on - it should run for about 2 seconds to prime the fuel system.

Thanks everyone, i am fairly sure that it is the fuel pump, as i cannot hear it switching on.i think i'll change it before i get stuck.
