Vr headlight switch

just a quick question in my 1994 vr commodore is the HEADLIGHT SWITCH surpose to light up when the headlights are turned on ?

if it is what could be the cause for mine not to light up and how could i fix this

I have a VS and I don't think mine does. If you've got a fog light switch below it then the foglight switch should light up.

Nah it doesn't the markings are simply decals/painted on. I once pulled apart the switch to get my dash apart and i didn't see any globes or anything that would provide illumination to that area, nor was there cutouts in the switch for light to pass through.
