Have you checked the fluid level? If it is low that could be your problem. If the level is fine you should take it to a transmission specialist because I doubt that you will be able to fix it yourself. Len Voss in Hollylea Rd Leumeah does a good job.

I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.

Just service it yourself, about $25 for a new transmission filter ,seal and pan gasket which comes together in a kit,and another $20 or so for the 5 litres of dexron111 type trans fluid.Just drop the transmission pan at one end to drain some fluid out of it,then carefully remove the pan with the rest of the fluid in it,then pull out the old filter and seal, push in the new filter and filter seal, and clean the magnet in the bottom of the pan, then put the new pan gasket on with the pan,too easy.

servicing the trans yourself isn't as easy as it sounds, fine if you're mechanically minded and regularly use tools etc, but even if you understand it all but you're not on the tools much you'll find this just a bit of a struggle and will most likely end up with trans fluid on your face/head/hair/neck, etc - trans fluid is THE WORST haha.

but as brett said, way cheaper. You'd probably have no change back from $150 at a shop.

You can just drain the oil out by disconnecting the line that pumps into the radiator trans cooler, then connect back up n refill.

Not the best way to do it, coz u havnt changed the filter, but it gets the oil out without dropping the pan.

I dont get why people think its so difficult to remove the transmission pan and change the trans filter and fluid themselves.Lots of people on here seem to think so,but Its no harder than changing the engine oil and filter. It just takes a bit longer and its a little bit harder to access.Servicing it makes the car run noticeably better too, especially if it hasnt been done in ages.I do my fluid and filter every 3 months,I drive it like a manual a lot of the time,so I like to look after it..
