It is a well known fact that lexcens are far superior to commodores.

    They have a faster tune.
    look better.
    cheaper rego and insurance.
    better built (toyotas always are).

Yeah doesn't look bad. You can always swap the front end for a Commodore one if you don't like it - just guards, bar and a bit of moving wiring. Possibly a Lexcen might be less likely to have been thrashed than a Commodore too!

I'm not going to go into all the technical crap of insurance because i'll probably throw up but simply put...

There are a crapload of Holdens on the road, and crap all Lexcens. This means that it costs more to insure a Holden than a lexcen as more insurance claims are made from Holden drivers. I think this is how it works but i'm not 100% sure and happy to be corrected.

Considering they're exactly the same car I find that hard to beleive.

Why is the build quality any different. They were built in exactly the same factory by exactly the same people. They just put two different badges on them...

I can't stand lexcens, even if it is a vs commodore with a toyota badge.
just the small grill change and those front indicators make me shudder.

More insurance claims are made with Commodores than Lexcens, therefore it's a more dangerous car to be in hence the higher cost to insure.

That's what insurance companies think anyway...

Insurance wise my Lexcen cost me about two thirds of what it would cost me to insure the equivalent VR Commodore. No difference in build quality though IMO - they all use prety much identical parts (except for the obvious exterior styling bits).

That's probably just because statisticly there are less lexans involved in accidents. Massive Herpa derp on behalf of the insurance companies.

They are the same as a commodore mate. If it runs good and you really like it, then go for it.... Re badge it with holden stuff and you're good to go haha
