Does anyone know if a series 2 transmission will fit a series 1 without the need to change the computer etc..?

yes it will [QUOTE=statesman_man;1750806]Does anyone know if a series 2 transmission will fit a series 1 without the need to change the computer etc..?[/QUOTE s1 and s2 flexplates (what theyre called in auto's flywheels for manual) are different but its not really an issue as auto is driven off the torque convertor which bolts to your flywheel.
both boxes are same hydraulic so no wiring differences or

As long as the transmissions both have 13 pins in their electrical connectors, they will fit the VS.The VR models had the same 4L60E auto transmission, and it will bolt straight up to a VS,but the electrical connector on the VR only has 12 pins, not 13 like the VS,so it wont run properly. This is where it gets confusing. But as I said, just make sure they both have 13 pins in their connectors and they will be fine in the VS.
