Memcal question

can a late series memcal be fitted to an ealier series car?
I have a S1 VS V6 with a so called performance memcal and want to put it back to a standard one to see if it makes any difference, I have been given a CXAJ1848 which is from a S3 VS V6 will this work in the S1 ECU?

yep no problems, there all the same it will work in either vs v6 ecu's, what memcal are you upgrading from? Shift points and pressure is slightly better in later tunes, timing isn't as good as early tunes.

Thanks for that - not sure apparently it is a performance one looks like it has been reprogrammed just swapped the memcal and the one I took out has a white sticker saying VSV6 A98 so it is not a factory memcal by the looks

factory memcal should have a silver looking sticker under the blue cover and say DELCO and a code.

exactly why I have no idea what the one in the car was - have changed it over to the S3 factory one just need to take it for a drive to see how it goes

the stock memcal that came with the ecu will also be labeled on the ecu itself bottom right four letters.
