hi guys just wondering if anyone has an idea on vs shutting off but i was able to pull over and start it back up straight a way have put brand new ultra high performance battery in and new battery connections on didnt lose and accerlation when started back up and no noises just wondering i put one of them aftermarket chips in off ebay in last year maybe it could be that cheers
First thing is to do fault code check which is very easy: Checking error codes VR/VS (Revised)
If it shows a code it should point to the problem. I'd doubt that something you added (the chip) last year will take this long to cause trouble. Another thing to check is the main cable that connects to the back of the alternator - it can burn out.

thanks mate ill try that the plastic has been burnt on the back of the alternator wraped it in electrical tape not sure if it would work have replaced alternator
When you check the main cable at the alternator, check back along the wire as it goes brittle with heat and crystallises internally then heats up even more....worst case scenario is that it breaks off, arcs wildly and starts a fire.
Good Luck.
