would it be possible to put in a minispool diff centre?? and how much would i be looking at?

For a drag car, I would be using a full spool. You can get them off E-bay for around $500.

Will you continue to run the V6?

If so, what are your plans?
What power output are you looking at?
If its a standard ecotec, I wouldn't bother with a spool at all. A standard LSD Will be all you need and can be had for a six pack if you look long enough.

currently the engine is stock but am looking to turbo it in the near future so i need a diff that will handle the power

well you'll need to rebuild the motor long before you have to worry about breaking a diff.

Stock ecotec will take 10psi if its in good nick, so you're not going to bother the diff.

so at the end of the day is it possible to change diff centres from a single spinner to make it either lsd, minispooled, or full spooled

single spin - one wheel spins one way and the other the other way (when jacked up)
lsd - only grabs both wheels when the power is given
minispool - both wheels are constantly locked (not good for corners or tyre wear)
im not too sure bout the full spool tho

as u can tell i dont have the best knowledge with running gear thats y im posting questions because ive looked for ages and cant find exact answers to my questions
i want to make informed decisions when i do this so im not wasting time, money and effort

Mini spool is just a smaller weaker version of a full spool.
Its cheap because all it does is replace the spider gears, full spool replaces the whole center.

    I'm just going basics atm.

He didn't originally state what power output he was after. So I just went straight for the worst case scenario.

How does that make it a street car?

Seen plenty of low budget drag cars that never see the street.

He was saying the question was already answered in the first post.

As delco said, you'll never break a spool.
On the 'bad for corners and tyre wear', thats just a myth. But it wouldn't effect you if you believed what your cousins uncles next door neighbour thought about spools anyway, drag cars dont turn corners...

Ive had a mini spool in my 307 vl with vn head 800 holly high lifter cam, shaved ported head, stage 2 shift kit 2300 stall and it gets driven daily, not flogged but not babies, I haven't broken a single a axle and my tyre last just as long with the spool and I spit it out occasionally, and belted everyone goes on about time and place I have 3km drive way so I use it for fun lol

If you are on a tight budget, don't spend money on a spool, just weld the spiral gears and you will be smoking

My understanding was that the mini spool still let the outside wheel spin faster when going around corners.... Just like a auto locker on a forby...

Not a street car to take to the drags.

Do the spool. drag car definitely yes. in a daily..... just do it, its cheap... if the minor short comming of it annoy u, get rid of it.. easy

from my own experience... race car that is also street driven.

If i didnt have to tow trailers id lock the diff in my daily too

id love to keep it street but some of the plans i have wont allow me to keep it on the road legally so im just gonna settle with buying a vn for next to nothing and playing with that instead
VRV666 has done what i want to do plus more lol so this is along the lines of what im aiming for:
    v6 vn dragger # 2
