ecu has nothing to do with the airbags at all and checking ecu error codes wont show airbag codes need tech 1 scanner like holden has

The SRS module is located under the front drivers seat, its a black metal box.Its probably faulty,or its wiring or connectors..If you replace it with a second hand SRS module, make sure the car the SRS module comes from, has got the same SRS setup as yours,eg-single drivers side airbag,or both drivers and passenger airbags. If its different from your setup, the SRS light will come on and error codes will set.A brand new SRS module can be configured for single or duel SRS airbags with the Tech 1 scantool. The Tech 1 can also connect to and read SRS error codes. These are different error codes to the ECU error codes, and can not be read without a Tech 1 scantool.
I have a list of the SRS error codes.Remember, you need a Tech 1 scantool to be able to read and clear these SRS codes.

Unplug each wheel sensor and using a mulitmeter set to A/C volts, spin each wheel and see if you get a small voltage generated.
This will eliminate the common fault of a dodgy wheel sensor.

    Then find a another mechanic.

normal culprets are the clock spring in the stearing wheel and the seatbelt pretensioners or turning the ignition on with the gauge panel out of the dash
