hey all,
i drove past a vs statesman like mine the other day and he gave it some pedal and it took off with a massive whine.
i asked my mate how he got it do whine like that and apparently you can get a tighter belt or something?
is that riht or am i way off?
can anyone help me please?
thanx.
10psi pulley and a pod filter.
Pod filter does nothing but make noise mind you.
do you mean like the old-school chevy type of supercharger whine?
or sorta like in this video?
YES that whine! thats like exactly how it sounded
6 or 8? increase boost, intercool and larger diameter intake tube should get some nice whine. if its an L67 with an eaton m90 you can also block the silencer ports on the blower. some claim they get more whine, some say it does nothing....

its 6. it seems like too much money/work lol... i miht just have to buy an app on the iphone and use it when im driving in my car lmao
whats a gilma?
Gilmer belt drive. Would be a massive pain in the ass to set up on a V6 as its only 1 belt and you would have to pretty much get it all custom made as I have never seen any kits.
Not to mention TOTALLY redundant as the V6 has a serpentine belt already.
Hey fallen1... This might be a stupid question....but...
Does your car actually HAVE a supercharger?

My vp use to spit belts so I had gilmers, they guy I got mine off doesn't do em now
So instead of replacing a dodgy tensioner you paid how much for a Gilmer kit?
yehz its 99 s3 vs statesman WITH a supercharger.. why would i post this if i diddnt have one... think about the name of MY post... how do I get that supercharger whine... emphasis on the >>>I<<< think before YOU comment mate.
Haha mate, you would be suprised what sort of stuff total gooses post on here.
As I said before, a 10psi pulley and a pod filter will make noise. Seen it, heared it. Thats what you're after.
* Pod filters automatically add 10 gay points to your car.
* Pod filters do nothing good for the car performance related or otherwise.
* Pod filters are good for noise, and thats it.
thanks Soop.. you have given me some good advice before so i think ill keep on listening... ill do the 10 psi pulley and decide later on the pod.. probs give it a miss though.. thanks again
From what I've seen the pod is what helps with the sound bud.
The whine seems to resonate through it.
speed holes (as homer called them), and a red stripe. and a BIG 'Holden" sticker across your rear window. cant forget the +20hp pod filter too.. haha
