VS V6 cammed, high comp.
Hi Guys,
Currently i'm using a run of the mill 2.5" cat back with straight through centre muffler only. My engine has a nice lope during acceleration but it seems to be drowned out by too much "noise". Is the use of hotdogs a way to amplify the individual notes and make it more crackly on the downshift?
As far as hot dogs go, does anyone ever use them in the middle, or only AFTER the muffler?
If you want to accentuate the lope, twin system with no X or H pipe.
Guaranteed that will do it. I'll give you $10 if it doesn't.
Thanks Soop, that was the other option. In regards to the use of mufflers do you think just centre mufflers no res. Also, twin cats?
Yes twin cats, mufflers aren't going to change the sound structure only the volume and quality.
hotdogs work as low pass filters larger ovals act as high-mid pass depending on there internal design cam lope is normally at idle the chop at idle she would have to be a pretty big cam to lope at cruise
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
I can still hear the lope at low RPM cruise. Im just looking to make the most of it because it sounds good already. Thanks guys.
Regardless you will still loose that loop at high rpm, when I built my vp it ran pacemaker headers into dual 2 1/2 inch cats n twin pipes it was all 2 1/2 straight threw, the motor had massive head work and a huge cam aftermarket computer, injectors the work back with a 5 speed and it lost it's loop at high rpm
