    Default VS Fuel hose problem

I was taking my plenum chamber off to change my fuel injectors when I realised I forgot to disconnect the fuel lines, silly me . I went to disconnect the fuel lines, but I went to dissconnected it from the fuel rail end, which seemed a bit hard. Once I got the hose back enough to realise what was going on, I could tell that the hose was kind of stuck onto the fuel rail, which obviusly ment it wasn't ment to come off...
I just want to know if I have done too much damage so that now I need to buy a new fuel rail, or if I push the hose back on it should be fine?
This is a typical 16 year old mistake, and i'm still learning, so negative feedback won't really help me right now as I already know how badly i've f***ed up.
    Cheers.

Mate we all stuff up at some point so don't be too hard on yourself. Think of it this way, you've learnt your lesson so I guess you won't make that same mistake again lol
Which hose did you partially remove? The drivers side (return hose at fuel pressure regularor) or passenger side (supply hose). So long as you can get it back on where it was you should be fine. Just to be sure though, i'd be putting a good hose clamp on it as well.
    Cheers,
    Chris.

Well the hose was from the drivers side, but it seemed to be stuck onto the fuel rail, so I figured I shouldn't pull it off. It's just that I put a fair amout of pressure to get it off before I realised it shouldn't be coming off. Chris i'm worried that if I simply put it back on and clamp it, it may leak, and leaking petrol in the engine bay isn't the best of things.

    Cheers.

The drivers side has the fuel pressure regulator and the return line. The passenger side has the inlet hose connected straight to the fuel rail. These are both held onto the fuel rail with small connectors and bolts. If its the hose that comes from the pressure regulator side.(drivers side) thats partially come off, then its not going to be cheap to replace it, as the pressure regulator and hose come as one piece...If it were me Id just replace it,but you can clamp it.Just make sure its clamped firmly, but not too tight. If its done up too tight,it can actually cut into,or otherwise split the hose and cause a leak, but if its not tight enough,it will blow off,so get it just right and check it often, especially for the first few drives.

I'd love to replace it, but when you're only 16 with a casual job money doesn't come that fast haha.
I think i'll just clamp it back for now, save up a bit more then replace it. Better to be safe then sorry I guess!

Yeah mate,I know where you are coming from.Im pretty sure a genuine fuel pressure regulator from holden is around $100 or more.Definitely shop around though when you are ready to replace it.

The factory fuel fittings have 2 one way barbs in them so this is why the hose pushes on them relatively easily, but coming back off is a different story (as they're designed to do). Clamping it should work fine but if it worries you why not get a replacement from a wrecker etc? Assuming you have the standard vs fuel rails which are billet alloy, you could just replace the regulator (with return hose attached) with another one. You'll have to remove the plenum chamber to to this. On the end of the fuel rail (facing firewall) there will be one phillips drive screw. Remove this and then the retaining plate. Then the regulator simply pulls out of the end of the rail. Its seals with o rings so it may be a little tight to come out. Put a little petroleum jelly (vaseline) on the o ring when you reinstall it.
For your info too, the return line will never see more than 10psi, so its quite low pressure.
    Cheers,
    Chris.

Yeah, thats probably the way to go,get hold of a good second hand one.It would be better than clamping the old one.
