    Default VS Clutch Slipping?

    Gday fellas

Just some Q's about my manual trans seeing as its the first proper manual ive had i cant tell what is actually going.

Driving giving it a bit going from 1st to 2nd engine revs alot then slowly creeps into gear same with 3rd im assuming the clutch is giving out?

Going from 1st to second unless it gets to 2000rpm the car will shudder as if its about to stall

Also when dropping from 3rd to 2nd its dosnt feel as if its gripping alot and gives of a grinding sound

Please tell me its just the clutch and not the flywheel or worse, gearbox

Sounds like the clutch, just find a moderate hill, shift into 4th gear and accelerate hard. If the clutch is slipping, the revs will rise although the car will not really go anywhere.

When the clutch is replaced, the flywheel will be machined anyhow, although depending on the condition may need replacement.

, its not that hard to do if you have a little mechanical knowledge or have a friend who can...OR Yep, pretty much. Just take the old flywheel out and machine.OUCH, unlucky mate the getrags are expensive when you do the clutch. it cost my mate $900( THATS CHEAP) to replace the clutch and flywheel is his vs ute, luckily mines fine atm touch wood, It is so expensive cause the flywheel alsohas to be replaced or machined (possibly), not sure if a T5 clutch will fit it but im thinking it wont

I probably could do it myself if i found a tutorial on how to do it, but i think id rather pay someone else to do it to make sure it gets done properly

Round abouts i think you will spend at least $1200 for a solid flywheel conversion kit for it. Then add on labour (just for example) my local wrecker charges $400 for gearbox in and out.

Just an update guys, got my cents together and about to start throwing it at the car. Ive been told that it could very well only be just the synchros? (Referring to the crunching noise between gears) Are they expensive to replace in the S2? Im not going to attempt it myself not enough knowledge to dive that far into messing with the car.

But as previously suggested i took it to a hill tried to go in 4th the revs didnt go anywhere but the car didnt want to attempt the hill (obviously).

Also when driving after a while car gets warmed up take it to a "private property" ill give it some then when i go to change gears the revs go through the roof and slowly gets into gear, is that normal? Seems like a gremlin because times it will slip out but then other time it will slam into gear :/

Sounds to me like your front G/BOx seal maybe gone, and is leaking oil onto the clutch. Check that out maybe, or explain that to your mech and have them sus it.
