hey all i have made a twin throttle mani on my vr with a vx ecotec engine and thought id share my experience with u guys. first of all it does run without a maf or piping but u have to slot the tps bolt holes and turn it clockwise it runs better then. and i am running stock injectors atm even now it pulls harder my engine is mildly worked tho. if anyone is wondering how hard it is to make its pretty basic. ill post some pics up soon and im getting the maf plumbed up with 3'' pipe and bought some bluetop 775 injectors off ebay will let u guys know progress. the hardest part is getting the lid to seal up properly im making a cork gasket hope it works.
what other mods are done to the engine?
ok i have a mild cam roller rockers acl race series pistons shaved heads match ported inlet manifold pacemaker extractors twin hi flow cats 2.5' exhaust otr cai k+n panel filter. ill get some pics up tomoz

Couldnt you use high temp silicone to seal the lid?
thanks guys ill touch up a few spots and clean up again. with the tune yeah its needs one i have just done the y pipe to plumb the maf and runs heaps better idles @ 1100 tho because one of the iac's need to be reset in its closed position but i will cut that off a throttle body and weld the holes up and clean it up. this setup would be awsome in a vr off the older ecu and loom no maf restrictions. but im going to try to vn vr throttle bodies i think bigger isnt always better. ill get more pics up if u can build 1 its cheap as its not worth spending 1200 on one when the gains arnt huge but so far i have spent 60 bucks and the y pipe cost me nothing just a 3' bed frame lol
bed fame for y peice 3' just about as thick as zorst pipe but cost nothing. having troubles with idle but pretty sure its the second iac but goes well

cheers mate doing it on the cheap lol just want to get it all going well before i get welds touched up and the grinding finished in case its not worth it. but i tell u 1200 for one from mace people would be unhappy for the hp gains for money value. mine still cost less than my k+n filter so i cant complain but if im not happy ill sell it off but well see after the tune got quoted $ 770 but well see

yeah it goes better i got some bluetop injectors coming but not sure about the empediance compatability dont know much about that stuff. wouldnt mine some snails but cost a bit. i might go a ls1 maf for more flow and a bigger flange on the airbox. hope i get around 200rwkw and down the track i might put the running gear into a vk
so did you notice more top end at all or just more responsive lower in the rev range?
coz in theory, it doesnt matter how much TB are there is, the cam can only allow a predefined amount of air in....
yeah it has a lot more poke off the mark and heaps off pull a 3000 and dies off a bit at after 5000 and the engine light comes on with
Code 57 - Injector Power supply voltage variation. i dont think im getting enough fuel up top i got bluetops coming and im making a plenum spacer so ill get them in soon and see how it goes
