Default VR and VS Auto Transmissions

Ive got a full Series 2 VS Clubsport Wreck with 355 stroker and rebuilt auto with 3000rpm stally and a 3.9 diff

Is it possible to switch the whole drivetrain into a 215i VR Senator including the 355 stroker from the Clubsport(As its brand new). Will it be a straight swap?

Also if the autos are different can i swap the stall converters and use the existing VR senator box

Will the diff switch over no problem?

What about the computers. Can i use the vs computer in the VR senator or will i need to retune using the vr computer?

ok done some further research and its not as easy as you lot are suggesting

for starters the gearboxes are different. VR auto has 6 solenoids and VS has 7 as well as that the plugs are different

ecu's are different and the VS ecu wont run the VR or VS box without harness mods

pretty much the easiest way to do the whole thing is switch motors and also my diff and torque converter. Run ot off the VR ecu and auto box and get a retune to suit the stroker. then eventually get the vr box rebullt with a stage 2 kit

All up thats like 1500 for fitting, and another 800 for a retune. So near 2500 just to get it running. where as if i wait until a nice vs hsv comesa on the market everything will be a straight swap and a lot cheaper! i think ill wait!

VR was the first of the electronic series. VP/VQ were the last of the cable kickdown series.
