how do you remove the outer door handles on a vs?

Take the door trims off and have a look. Its pretty simple although its been years since I had to do it to a friends car.

Haha, yeah they are really fiddly, I've had to do it a few times... Im pro at it now though lol
But yeah, you take the door trim off.. you look inside the door from the inside and at the back of the door handle you will see a horizontal clip about 100mm long, you slide that to the right, you might need to use a flathead screwdriver or somthin, and then one side will come out the inside of the door adn the other side will come out the out side of the door.

Do you rip the plastic off or do you just place it back?

Try remove the plastic without breaking it, no biggie if you do break it though. Most I have pulled apart didnt even have them in there after people taking them off before me.
