Also, furthermore, is the wiring for the fog lights factory fitted, installed in a VS Calais?

I added the front foggies to my VS exec standard front bar. Had the bezels added when it was in for repair from a minor front end bingle

No pics of it ATM and I can't get any as it is parked at work over the long weekend.

The wiring I made up myself using the Holden diagrams. Not too hard except for the wire from the switch to the relay (through the firewall) and the addition of a relay to the engine relay block. Depending what level car you have, it may or may not already have the wiring there. Easy way to check is to see if there is any unconnected connectors near where the lights would be.

    Have fun.....

    LOL .. thanks guys :0

Anyone got a calais and know if the wiring is there in a high-series car? I've got the proper switch to install, and I'd like to install some driving lights .. Anyone recommend a model that fits with the front bar? Or at least, the holden part number if using actual parts to suit ..

    Thanks!

Is the ss front bar the same as the standard front bar, but with extras? ie fog lights

So can you drill out the standard bar and get the ss fog lights and other attachments and turn your front bar into an ss bar?

Pretty sure the standard bar is the same as the bar with the fog lights ...just has the pieces cut out and the surrounds clamped in.
Any idea of price in parts to do the mod?

    And here it is.........

Standard exec bumper with the bits cut out and the fog light surrounds stuck in.

Just ignore the dirt and stone chips.....

As I said above - I had a panel beater do it as the car happened to be there. I rekon it wouldn't be too hard to DIY.

Bracket and light assembly $130 each and bezel about $20 each retail all up with gst included from holden making it about a $300 exercise before painting and electrics ie wiring and switch
Might skim about $30 - 40 if you can swing trade price

Had a quick look today, and there is no real cut out line so would take a fair bit of playing around with. For me its more effort than its worth. If you want them that bad, probably easier just to get a different front bar.

    Acquired most bits over time.

Dash switch, engine bay relay block (rather than wire it in) and lights I got from a wrecker pretty cheap.

    Bezels from Holden dealer.

    Wiring diagrams from gregorys manual.

hahaha, yeah it means theyre too bright! What it really means is that the amount of power in the car isn't enough to run lights and driving lights. Maybe try turning off the 2000W amp? A new battery and voltage regulator should fix that.

its meant to be like that chief...
when u have your headlights on and turn the driving lights on, they switch to parkers... but when u have driving lights on, and switch on the high beams, u get everything
i thought it was a fault, but i read the manual that came with the car and it said it was suppose 2 be like that
