Default vs 5 ltr pacemaker extractors

Hey commodore fans I'm currently fitting some pacemaker extractors to my 5 litre. I removed steering rack as it was in the way and got the passenger side in preety easy but am having trouble getting the driver side in. I tried turning and twisting the extractor to only get it stuck or half in facing the wrong way. Can anyone give me any tips on the easiest way to get the drivers side in and fitted. Will I have to jack engine on the left side to make room? Cheers.

It's nearly a 2 person job, gotta do them from underneath and its easier if 1 person is underneath and 1 person under even easier if you can get a hoist then it's an easy job, if you remove the Engine mount bolt and can lift the engine about 2 inches you can get it but. Don't try and force them as this won't work also have you the proper ones there are different models for the variable steering fitted cars and the normal power steering.

Only heard stories bout these, so from what i been told, yes jacing the engine is the best way. BUT getting that engine mount bolt is goin to tb a bitch i'd say. Maybe just try jeacking withought undoing it(like with a lump of timber pushing the drive side over, not under the sump), and see if you can squeeze it first. Upto you to judge how much movement you may need.
