Thread: Removing hubs on Vs ute??

    Default Removing hubs on Vs ute??

    Problem is i cant figure out how to get the hub off my ute, i have got the rotor, brakes and the brackets behind the hub all disconnected, but the hubs wont come off............soo how do i get it off??

    Have you undone the lower control arm ball joint and the two bolts through the strut? That's all that holds the hub on.

    Front hub? and you have the 3 bolts (or 4, cant remember?) out of the back of it? belt it with a hammer.

    You need to undo the 3 bolts behind the hub - the have hexagonal allen key heads....may need to slip a length of pipe over the allen key to get enough leverage to undo. You should not need to remove the ball joint....just turn the wheel to the left and undo the bolts which are visible, then turn wheel to right and undo the other(s).

    Spray the bolts with WD40, RP7 or equivalent first before you try and remove them with the allen key. You will need to get a special socket with an extended (long) allen key portion to reach the bolt.
