    Default Leaking hose issue

Hi all. Long time reading, first time poster. Great forum you guys have here btw. I need help identifying a problem. I'm not mechanically minded and need your guidance. pics below...

There seems to be a split in the red circled hose and it's leaking fluid. Noticed it about a couple of days ago. It seems to only leak when the engine is turned on though. What is the hose called? what is the fluid leaking from it? and should i be alarmed? I'm fairly certain the hose is split because it's dry up the top and gets wet around half way down (notice the shiny part of the hose). It's leaking over the sway bar. Assistance appreciated. Thanks.

Looks to me like the transmission hoses. Try tightening the hose clamps. If there is a split in the hose then replace the hose. If it has been leaking for some time you better check the transmission fluid level.

Better get that fixed. From memory there was a recall on the VR( don't know about VS ) due to hoses coming of, spraying oil and catching alight on the exhaust manifolds.

I think the recall on the VR's put on double hose clamps and a lockable transmission dipstick.

Agreed. Replace the hose and check your transmission fliud levels ASAP. Trans fluid is red.

Thanks guys. Replaced the hose and now it's fine. Trans fluid was pretty much empty when we fixed it...
