Yes I know, if you get anymore manly you are in danger of making yourself pregnant!
Welcome mate, and as for lowering it, either go King Springs Lows and just swap the springs and anything else that needs to be replaced, or go lower and get new lowered shocks if you want it to handle properly. KYB Excel G's are a really good shock and great value for money. Also look at new bushes depending on their condition, I found SuperPro to be my personal favourite. Sway bar link kits are cheap and worthwhile too. If it's IRS you may want to look at a camber kit depending on how low you decide to go. After that bigger sway bars probably. If I were you I'd think about getting some chasers (I have some for sale lol) and chucking some springs in it. Then save for shocks and other stuff![]()
yeah i found a kit on ebay for 500 with king springs and monroe shocks and some other bits and pieces for the lowering job what are chasers though?
as for more details theres not much its pretty stock standard the guy i bought it from had owned it from 97 and its a 95 model all in all im really happy with it =]
chasers? chasers could be referring to interceptor rims/stock rims.
people generally call the genuine interceptor 15 x 7 rims chasers.
but any 'chasers' part that comes with lowering gear is beyond me....
true as for wheels gonna need new tyres soon and was thinking biting the bullet for both tyres and wheels and getting these

thoughts? i like the gun metal and if i get a body kit plan on doing gun metal dark grey accents
Yeah obviously chasers don't come with the kit, but they are the silver 15x7" steel rims (inch wider than the standards and called chasers because they were fitted to police cars). And a kit could be a good way to go, but are you doing it all yourself or taking it somewhere to be fitted? If you're doing it yourself, get a quote from Burson's for KYB's and King Springs and any other bits an pieces you want, I've found they can take a fair bit off, plus KYB's are better than Monroe's imo haha. And quite like those rims, they should look sweet, but make sure you're real careful with gutters and paint your brake calipers and the shield part too so it looks a lot nicer. And while you're doing stuff have a think about changing the fluid and putting some new pads and maybe rotors if they need it too, slotted ones look cool![]()
welcome to the white vs club lol
yeah kinda blew the bank yesterday on a ps3 =[ lol worth it but its all money haha
hey all just wondering ow do i find out bout my suspension wether irs or not?
thanks
Well chances are there'll be an ///IRS/// or something like that badge in the centre console under the stereo and one on the back window too I think if it has IRS. You could also check the owners manual. But the easiest way is just to look under the car. If it looks to be a solid one piece then its a solid diff. If it has cog looking things either side of the middle and definately isnt all covered and one piece it's IRS.![]()
Flak is correct if its a straight solid 1 piece then its not irs
If you want to lower it 50mm then you will need to go superlows with lowered shocks, changeing the springs and shock ain't that diffucult but you will need spring compressers to be able to unbolt the top nut on the struts.
Alot of people put in superlows without changeing shocks and the oringal shocks wear out fast, so do it right the first time.
yeah i plan to swap out both shocks and springs how much would a spring compressor set you back?
not alot I think I paid roughly $30 from supercheap and it has come in handy many times due to mates wanting to swap out there springs etc.
yeah my bad quick ebay search came at around 30 bucks
hopefully get some more cash an will have it done soon
also anyone know where to get a gto/monaro bodykit? the cheapest ive seen is 600 off the dodge guy on ebay or 1000 from car mate but 1000 is too much for how much i paid for it.
if not probably gonna get the ss lips
Yeah I've borrowed the $30 SuperCheap ones from a mate, they do the job, not great, but doesn't really matter.
Please don't get a GTO/Monaro body-kit haha. What about a nice, genuine if possible, SS one? Also if you are thinking about a body-kit, the money you may need to spend having it prepared and sprayed to match your car could be another $600 easy on-top of the original price, unless as I said, you get something genuine and the same colour, otherwise just leave it i think. But in the end, whatever makes you happy![]()
yeah not a fan of the over the top kits but the gto one in white with grey accents looks alright, but at the moment leaning towards the ss lip kit found one for 490, good?
also has anyone seen a vs interior leather wrapped (got the idea when i wrapped my 4x12 speakers in faux leather vinyl)?
i keep thinking it would look good on certain parts with some parts in a silver spray, but then think worse than spraying white or something lol
Ahk, that's good, got any pictures? And I'm not sure, depends on a lot of things I guess. I'd definitely be looking at wheels, suspension, exhaust, CAI even stereo first though. I haven't seen one, but doing the door trims would look cool. I not sure about painting the interior, I like to keep it more dark and original. But there's probably how to's for painting everything on here somewhere if you want to do it.
yeah the colour of the interior im not fussed on prefer black and darker colours but yeah suspension is first exhaust next wheels and tyres and cold air intake probably call it quits after that, stereo if i get spare cash ive grown used to just listening to the radio lol
true thanks but probably not gonna have a spoiler
Sounds like a plan, and yeah I'm not a big spoiler fan but I really like the boot-lip spoilers.
feel like im asking a ton of stuff but just truing to get everything together
i been looking at catbacks and was wondering can you fit a tip on them? cause they dont look very long
Haha don't worry about it, it's what most people are here for right?
And with a cat-back, it will usually just have the pipe itself to the end of the bumper, and if it's made for your car it's the same distance as the original. You can get a tip fitted to any so far as I'm aware. They cut a small amount of the pipe off and weld the tip on so over all it's the same length.
