I have a 95 Vs commodore. And for the last few months some times when i start it the engine ticks over but does not fire.
The fuel pump primes, i can hear it. Theres just no fuel going into the motor, so it wont fire. A friend of mine told me its the cas but ive heard of different symptoms for that.
Another friend thinks it is the fuel pump. I actually went to change the fuel pump because we couldnt get it started. When we disconnected it we tested voltage, it was around 10 volts. So i changed the relay fuse and it started.
Pulling my hair out over this one. What ever it is it is def electrical.
v6 or v8??
Why are you sure there is no fuel going to the engine? Also when you checked the voltage at the fuel pump you need to do it when it initially primes for about 2 secs otherwise you are probably measuring the fuel gauge voltage - this is because the pump only gets power when the engine starts and oil pressure builds up. You check the voltage on the violet wire but need someone to crank it while you have a multimeter connected to the violet wire and earth....some cheap digital multimeters will not measure it quick enough and you may then need to use an analogue meter.
