Will VR 185 memcal fit VS?

Will a BFPL2416 93, 5.0L Auto 16176424 185KW HSV memcal run in a 96 V8 VS auto?

if your going from an auto to auto it should be fine but the 185 memcal needs a knock sensor to run properly which a standard 5L won't have so you will throw up an engine light

I have the knock sensor to fit, sounds like I will be better off selling the memcal I have and getting the correct VS 185 memcal then...
