Default Retrofitting VT Calais International rims to earlier VS models

    Hi guys,

I'm new to these forums (have been registered for ages but first post today). Now that we have 2 Commodores in our family, you'll find me around here a lot more. I'm really impressed with the quality of the tech/how-to posts. Just for the record, our tribe of cars consists of an LX Torana (383 Chev), EH sedan (VK EFI 6), VS II Berlina sedan (V6), and a VS Exec wagon (V6).

Anyway - onto my question. I want to fit a set of 17" VT Calais Internationals to my wife's VS wagon. It's in desperate need of gaining some street cred since it's fairly stock at the moment.

So when looking at Internationals, is there anything I need to look out for?

Are they all the same, or are there different rim widths and different offsets?

Are they a simple bolt up to the VS with no clearance issues etc?

What about when lowering the car, still good?

And lastly, what tyre sizes do people usually run on these things?

Any info would be great. If anyone has pics they'd like to share of Internationals on their VS's etc.... would love to see em!

    Cheers,
    Brett.

Straight bolt on, 235/45 will be good.
If lowered, depending on height, there are no issues that you wouldn't get with other rims...

I think VL to VZ are all the same stud pattern. Def VN-VZ, just not sure how much further back it goes before VN.

Thanks for the replies so far guys.

Yeah stud pattern is the same all the way back to the mighty VB.

It's more offsets and rim widths I was trying to suss out. From what I've seen on Ebay and the like, it seems all these 17" Internationals are 8" wide. Pretty big rims for the front.

VS came with 17x8 235/45-17 on HSV cars.

    You wont have an issue.

The offset is a problem, but depends how wide you want the rubber to be. I run 215/45 on my VX SS rims on my VR, i have absolutely no issues there.
