I have a 1995 vs executive v6 which is having a problem with downshifting from 3rd to 2nd.
If I accelerate and it has to shift to second there is a small delay and then it bangs into gear quite hard. Could this be the 3-2 shift solenoid? I have never worked on auto's before so any help would be much appreciated.
No transmission light on, so will it have a fault code?
The car changes up fine, it even kicks down from 4th-3rd and 2nd-1st fine.
oil level is good.
Is this not a common problem?
just checked codes and got a 12. so everything fine there
No delay. Everything else is just as it should be apart from the 3rd-2nd kickdown. If I am being really picky it makes a slight transmission noise under hard acceleration in 1st and second also.
so I guess that nobody knows. Am I really the only one who has had this problem?
So did you replace the 3-2 sol yet?
1st gear - Sol 1-2 is on Sol 2-3 is off
2nd gear - Sol 1-2 is off Sol 2-3 is off
3rd gear - Sol 1-2 is off Sol 2-3 is on
4th gear - Sol 1-2 is on Sol 2-3 is on
I had this problem and it got worse the sol where fine, get a service and they'll tell u whats wrong, mine was the bands, I've had mine adjusted bit my box just gave way so yeah what collies ur oil aid it's black ur clutch packs are rooted
i can't remember if you search you might find it, what model box is it, should have a sticker on the housing in the engine bay, XHDD
Try changing the 3-2 down shift sol, the one at the front of trans, driver side.
