I dont think so unless you obviously put in a ls1 which is alot of work and dollars but a t56 may be a possibility?

Pretty sur you can, cause the vt1 and ser3VS utes had a 6sp. So yes you can get one to fit. Not sure bout speed sensors an stuff, but im sure you can get that fixed up.

They only had a 6spd when linked to the 5.7L stroker engine not the stock 5L. However they bellhousing should still fit on a 5L.

Seems your right its a MM6 six-speed Borg Warner T56 manual. Came with the HSV 215i engines.

oh well back to the idea of vs shell n rapen my gen 3. love that 5L growl but like 6 gears better. dream car is a gts called bnanas tho

mal wood in warwick qld is the bloke to talk to. be warned though the cost for the whole kit including a rebuilt T56 is 7k+

although it can be done cheaper.. get a secondhand T56 for starters, and find a hydraulic pedal box out of a getrag equipped vs. mal sells a new pedal box he's made to suit the swap but its $700 odd from memory

it can be done, its just an adaptor plate and something to do with your starter motor, apart from that its basicly the same, i saw a guy on aussie v8 forum doing it with his 355 ute, have a look there
