hey guys, I've got a 94 vr berlina, 2nd stage shift kit (auto), sports exhaust soon to have CIA.
i was wondering which would be better to get performance and cost wise. either a bigger cam or high ratio roller rockers, also as far as i can tell they do the same thing... let more air in longer... correct me if im wrong (most probably am)
Haters gon' Hate
Rockers are best bang for buck unless u know how to pull engines down and install cam
tuning done by THE1 A+++++ tuner
And powering it by MACE
Build it to handle the MANG
Rubbish.
Cam in every way shape and form.
Rockers are the dodgy way of doing it. Nice way to screw up the valve train geometry.
You build a house from the foundation up, why not do the same with an engine.
Go for the cam
^^^
Totally agreed.
Cam to suit the application and you'll love it.
Do things properly. higher lift Cam, and if necessary, lighter stronger ROLLER rockers to suit combo. Pair them with the camshaft.
Standard ratio rockers are the go.
Problem with the V6 is the low static compression. Limits the choices with cam's.
Years ago i started with RR's. not one of the best decisions i made, but still made some gains. Later went for a bigger cam and wished i did it in the first place
Therefore im with some of the guys above.... chuck a cam in there... dont be shy either, put something reasonable in there
Hit me up with some reputation points if i've helped you out! (Star in the bottom left!) Cheers!

Have a look at the range of cams here, these guys been making more horsepower from the same v6 engines for longer than us.
