calais lights

Just curious ifsomeone can tell me what makes the centre console light and the power mirror led turn on in there Calais/Berlina? Is the power mirror led only on when you push the knob? Or is it on when the ignition is on? And what makes the centre console light turn on?

I've had a fair bit of the

so hope fully that made sense to more than just me.

There is no led or light on the mirror switch at all ..sure there is a green looking lense in the switch but theres nothing behind it ...it was something holden didn't use and the console light is operated by a mercury switch inside the lid so when you tilt it the mercury flows inside the switch and makes contact....the rear door on a wagon has the same thing for its rear light.

there is a green LED on the mirror switch on my Vee Pe, Mark......(damn switch dont werk tho! I have collected a few of them...will bring them over next time I go to your place........might be able to get me el. mirors working then !!)...
