    Default Warning lights showing.

Alright i have a few warning lights coming up when i turn the car into accesory 2 (VR Commodore btw)

I get the battery light come up (this i understand car hasnt been started in a few weeks so the battery is probably low)

I get a oil light show, yet my oil is full? and looks nice and clean on the indacator rod?

I get a P show up on the right of the other 2, no idea what that one is? haha

and i also have the "NO ABS" Show up, anyone have any ideas?

And on another note, my lights and stereo work fine untill i switch to high beams then my stereo turns off :/ Wiring problem most likely? should i leave it untill getting my whole stereo installed, doesnt seem like something to essential for now.

Thanks in advance for any answers!

The dash warning lights you mention should come on as the key is turned to on and start, its so you can check them all to make sure there are no blown bulbs etc and that they are all working. As long as they all go off again once the car is started, its fine.

Re your stereo going off when lights are on High beam....never heard that one before - but then it all depends on if someone has been playing with the wiring. I'd carry a fire extinguisher in the car at all times as it sounds like you have moderately serious wiring problems. Unless the stereo has been wired into the hi beam circuit and when the hi beam is switched on, the voltage drops below what is required by the stereo to work???

well yeah when the beams are turned on the stereo turns off, but the wiring has not been changed so it would have been like that for the previous owner aswell :/ but when the highbeams are turned off it turns back on >_< if i dont touch the HB its fine :/

with the stereo/high beam problem make sure your battery terminals are on nice and tight.
Does it also seem to lose a bit of power when it does this as i have had a problem like this before and it was only the terminals.
oh and check the earth for your stereo as well.

Your radio will turn off when you turn your highbeam when your battery is low! Its not a wiring problem. Normally if your stereo turns off when you put your highbeam on; You wont be able to start off. UNLESS your car is started when it happens, then thats another problem..
Oil light could be a faulty sensor; I cleaned my engine once and had my oil light flickering for ages.. went away
ABS off; You could have different sized tyres then original tyres? Normally when you get mags this will happen.., You could possibly get it reset or something by a auto elec.. I had the same problem and I did a ABS error fault check and found it was my wheel speed sensor, and changing tyre size will cause that fault..

If your car isnt started when the radio turns off, Should only be a flat battery. Noticed it so many times after listening to music for ages; any other input of power e.g highbeam or w/e the Radio will die.. but like I said if your car is running when the radio turns off, then your battery isnt getting charged or something
