hey, i got pacemaker extractors, high flow cat converter and then its just a single 2.5" sports exhaust from the cats back. its got a nice note but isnt too loud and doesn't drone which is handy.. its a good system for the ecotec IMO, gives it a bit more kick as well

go buy lukey 2 and a half inch sports exhaust (Y) or redback or whatever you find cheaper i picked mine up from carlin and fitted it myself, took me half an hour and only 4 bolts. 2 at the cat and 2.. damn can't remember now haha.. i did my research and ppl are lookin between $250 and $300 for sports exhaust. gives it nice grunt. very jizz worthy

dave93's pretty spot on, pacemakers, higher flowing cat, one muffler and a resi if you want. Twin 2 1/4" off the extractors into twin cats then merged into single 2 1/2" is really good too.

thats pretty much what my mate has on his VT ecotech but he has a hotdog and a resonator, sounds really good for a 6 banger
Going where no late model stato/caprice has gone before.... GAME ON!!

Most expensive part is the pacemakers, find a cheap set of them and you're laughing. New they're about $700... but I got mine for $150. So have a hunt around.

I snookered a set of pacemakers (ph5039 i think) complete wirh oxy sensors,Y tubings plus the hi flow cat (off a car that my sons mate had a bad rear ender in!! ,he'd only bought all this stuff new early dec 2010!!!) from the wreckers for $220 . At moment theyre at Competiton coatings in Archerfeild (qld) getting ceramic coated (i need to keep them cool cos my VS is duel fuel and i dont need a lot of heat under the lpg convertor and cold air intake piping).Once they're matched up with the redback sports exhast double tipped, and new V6 rocker covers(over the 1.9.1's),she'll not only look bling, but probably earn me a few speeding tickets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It'll be hard not to get excited nathan.
By the way,if anyones thinking about getting their pacies ceramic coated, i'm getting charged $250 + gst, it takes about a week to do cos of the process they use,but they rub em back and do them inside and out so its more free flowing whilst keeping everything cooler. Thats the ball park price range you'd be looking at.

I heard somewhere that the stock exaust with straight through mufflers is better performance wise than a 2.5" on an ecotec

i've got a set of pacies i havent put on yet... i measured the INTERNAL diameter of the exit of the collectors... 2".

So wouldn't a good system for an ecotec 3.8 be:

Pacies ---> Twin 2" hi flow cats ---> twin 2" hi flow mufflers ---> (twin 2" to single 2-1/2") Y-piece ---> 2-1/2" rear resonator ---> nice chrome tailpipe

    ???
