hi guys, im chasing a vibration\shudder i have in my vr v6. It occurs at 60k's and gradually gets worse with higer road speed. Feels like its front end related. So far i have replaced rear shocks, drive shaft & centre bearing, trans mount, srut mounts and bearings, new wheels and tyres and f\end alignment, dotors and pads. It feels like a very bad wheel imbalance\buckled rim, but the wheels and tyres are a1 and tried on another vehicle and felt fine. Eng mounts are 6months old. Rack ends are fine as are all bushes and tie rod ends. Im running out of things it could be, so can anyone maybe shed some light on what it may be. Cheers ash
Id say you need a Wheel balance/ alignment
Front end vibrations will be felt through the steering wheel.
Are the vibes and shudder quite prominent through the steering wheel or is it more a body shudder?
maybe universal joints
If it's live axle could be your upper trailing arms, the ones that go from the top of the diff onto the body.
about $100 for a set of new ones off ebay, install yourself in 5 minutes.

sorry just saw you've replaced drive shaft so it couldnt be unijoints.......doh!!!
If you put it in Neutral when shuddering does the shudder go away? If you back off when it's shuddering does it go away? Are the bolts that hold the K frame/subframe on tight?

i am having this same problem with my vr at the moment only reasonably new working on cars so if u have any answers to this problem please let me know
cheers,
mick
hi mate, yeah problem has been solved. turned out the new rims i got were not fitted with locating rings on the hubs and were only locating on the wheel studs causing all 4 wheels to be not hub centric, ie not running true. id start by getting wheels balanced first mick, then go from there looking at rack ends, tie rod ends and suspension bushes. cheers ash
cheers mate i will have a go and see where it leads thanks mate
