what springs would get my vs sitting on 100mm with 18" wheels?
So what happens when you have a few mates in the car and a boot full of grog. I know, your car gets defected for being to low. Sorry for not answering the question, but make sure youve though about that![]()
if you go with king springs you tell them EXACTLY how high you WANT it to sit by telling them your HUB TO GUARD measurement.
get out a tape measure. find the CENTER of your wheel. measure up. to where YOU WANT the wheel arch to sit. now do it again for the other end. when you go to order your springs, you tell them those measurements, and they(KINGSPRINGS) will know what you mean by a HUB TO GUARD measurement, and will sell you the RIGHT springs to make your car sit that low.
i tell you now, YOU WILL NEED SHORTER SHOCKS. your springs sitting that low, WILL FALL OUT when u raise the car on a jack, or go up a driveway on an angle to clear bumpers n stuff. so get some SUPER SHORT rear shocks or they WILL fall out!
i know this coz i used to work at repco and sold HEAPS of king springs for HEAPS of different cars, and all i give them is the H2G height and they go, ok this will do that. and i go, ok iv got that in stock...
so last note, go to repco. they have 90% of springs available overnight, and in most cases are about $150 a pair.
edit: one more thing, whoever it is at the shop you speak to, tell them to ring kings if they dont know what your on about. trust me.
I have SL's in the back of my vs berlina and fe2 in the front on 16" wheels and I'm pretty sure it's less than 100mm from the ground to where my exhaust joins the catylitic convertor
Ive got king lows in the front and lovells sl in the fear, sits just on or above 100mm. Passed driving over the 100mm high packet of salt test![]()
