i drove through a huge puddle and car stalled.. went to start and ticked like a flat battery... the next day i got a mates battery and motor turns over just wont fire.. air box was full of water so i dryed out with rags water was found all the way up to air intake.. i.ve checked leeds for spark and i got that... got fuel going in.. i took spark plugs out to find water so ive turned it over for awhile to get rid of the water still no luck so i put fuel in eack cyldner and turned it over for a bit again... still no luck.. cas is new and coil pack it ok... any ideas what i could try next???
the water was up to the bottom part of the doors so electrics inside car should be fine.. no dash errors..
i really wouldn't no what to do but if water has got in the motor i would drain the oil and change it and the oil filter ?
there doesnt look like waters gotten into the oil...but i will do that after i get the car home
if u got a mate with the same engine try his crank angel sensor, bit of pain 2 get 2 bro, but it mihgt b just that
its a new cas in it already... so wouldnt think its that...
it may b new bro but it wurth a shot u just never know, u seid the water wes up 2 ur door good chanse it got wet n stuffed it, n check ur iac valve
It could also be your spark.
You may need to replace your Spark Leads and plugs, and maybe the Coilpack.
When it cranks does it sound like it's almost about to kick in? or does it just keep cranking etc
Did you get wet inside? what i mean is could your ecu have water in it? water got into mine and it stopped the fuel pump from priming and working alltogether so would crank but not fire
it does have spark at leeds so can i rule out coil pack and cas??
the only dry footwell is where the ecu is so i think its ok
ive pumped fuel through the line no water found
the water came up bottom of the door and my folt thinking it wasnt deep
check fuzes? spray rp7 or wd40 down the throttle body see if it starts
(AKA TINTMAN)
try rule out bad fuel, remove the fuel pump fuse. Try start the car with your mate spraying some start ya bastard/ aerostart at the same time and see if it fires (maybe get your make to ware a workshop glove incase of a backfire) if it fires then maybe your fuel has become contaminated
So you went to turn it over....it couldnt turn it over with you battery, so you replaced the battery, or put your mates battery on in series like a jump pack?
You got it turning over, but didnt start, you took the plugs out, and found water in the cylinders?
So essentially, you were for a while, trying to compress water in the combustion chamber, i'd be getting a compression tester ou and chcking all the cylinders to make sure you havent done any damage that would cause low or high compression and stop it from firing.
