Default Guys with exhaust knowledge, please give me a hand.

    Hey guys.
I recently purchased a Lukey 2.5" cat back exhaust for my VR S - Live axle sedan,
After 6 weeks of them ####ing me around, it finally arrived today. I have plans to have my mechanic fit it all up for me in a week, though comparing that to my current exhaust, i can't for the life of me work out how the hell this thing is going to fit, and has me doubting that they've sent me the right one.
From what i can see, it currently goes from extractors - down pipe- cat - centre muffler - over the rear axle - rear muffler/resi - tip, and my understanding is that this is the standard set up, but when looking at the new exhaust the pieces just don't seem to match up in my mind.
Ill attach some photo's, can anyone please tell me if this is right or if they have sent me something incorrect, and how the set up should go with the new exhaust?
I apologize in advance if i've got this wrong, but with the ride these guys have put me on so far with this exhaust, it wouldn't surprise me at all if they have sent me the wrong one.
    Thanks heaps for any info.

It should be right mate. Providing its not IRS, as that exhaust could be for a IRS and not a Live Axel. It will be going from your Cat Converter, although where is the bracket to bolt up to the Cat Converter? It should be attached to the piece before the catback.

I really have no clue dude, is it the part that i've pushed up close to the muffler? That part can be slid up and down the pipe.
Another thing, if i measure the length of my car from behind the cat to the start of the rear muffler, give or take a few, its around 175cm's,
Whereas if i do the same with the new exhaust layed out on the ground its just over 270cm's..
I must be missing something here..

Sure they haven't sent you an exhaust for a Wagon? No it should be attached to the end of the exhaust before the Cat back and it attaches to the Cat Converter. Will go jump under my car and take a photo.

The front part, the bit with the muffler attached, is actually an IRS exhaust (it looks like a VT-VY one, not VS anyway), the tail pipe is correct.

As you can see there is the wider bit with the 2 bolts in it, this bit connects up to the Cat Converter. Then there is a pipe which leads to the Catback.

    #### #### ####!
I literally told them 3 times that it was for a live axle. so the tail (first picture) is correct, though they have sent me pipes from cat - the end of the front muffler to suit an IRS?
Is this why it seems a lot longer? I figured that the tail would be the part that differed between live and IRS considering its the part that has to work its way around the axle?

I see mate, thanks for taking that picture for me.
Guess ill add that to the message i send them later on making them aware of their quite expected mistake.

*update* hang on mate, i just checked it out again, it is the part that i had against the muffler, i slid it down and compared. Heres a pic.

What you should have is a front muffler that looks more like this:

Thanks heaps mate, i just compared that picture to my car and it all makes sense now.
One last thing that i don't understand now though, is considering the length of the front pipe with the muffler, the inclined part (shown on the right hand side of your link after the muffler) sits behind the rear wheels, theres no way that there's then enough room for the tail pipe?
Have they possibly sent me a tail pipe for a wagon?

    It looks right.

The bend directly behind the muffler sits in front of the diff, the U shaped bend on the tail pipe goes over the diff and slips onto the front muffler.

The part you slid over the tail pipe actually connects to the cat.

just call em up and make a booking and if itts wrong theyll tell u (and they can most defently make it fit considering i got a exhaust that was completly wrong for my car and they charged me next to nothing for the whole thing

Yep i've got it now and understand how it all connects up, but i've sat the tail pipe next to my car, starting from where the front pipe ends (just before the diff) and it extends out at least 30 or so cm's passed my rear bumper. Im sure it can be cut to fit but the point is that i ordered and paid for a product and after numerous amounts of ####ing around have been sent something different, its more the principal now rather than trying to figure out a way for it to fit.

Thanks mate, i understand what your saying, its just that i ordered a product that was suited to fit perfectly to my car, and they send me something completely different. I have contacted the seller and am organizing for them to get the exhaust back off me and send me a refund. I guess my best bet now is to not try and save on purchasing over the internet and to find a descent exhaust shop in Melbourne and take my car to them, which i suppose leads me to asking for some referrals of some good places around S.E Melbourne that can suggest something sick for my car? Don't want to turn this into yet another argument about the best setup thread, pretty sure im going to go for a 2.25 or 2.5 lukey (or something else to give me that signature growl) cat back. Ill check out this bay road joint, any other suggestions anyone?

I can send you a Manta cat back, front muffler and tail pipe for $255 landed at your door.

Jonnoo, anything is possible, but it would be way too much time and effort to make an IRS front muffler fit a live axle. In fact, the only thing that can be used on this particular one is about 1/2 a metre of the front pipe, the muffler is the wrong configuration to fit the car, the brackets are wrong, and the bends behind the muffler are not even close.
