Default vs v8 keeps dying then restarting within minutes

    hey guys,
my vs v8 with a 6speed box keeps dying while driving then starts straight away again.some days it doesn't do it at all and some days like today it does it lots.
You'll be driving along and then it loses all power.Today when it started first time ever it was making a clicking noise from the front of the motor and then it died again.I have been told it could be the oil pressure switch.Any ideas?it's giving me the s**ts

oil pressure switch wont make your car stall but i would be looking at the coil, ignition moduel and fuel pump

Make sure your coil lead is securely attached to the coil and distributor.

Check the return line for the fuel tank, my vr ss done something similar wen it was under load. Return line was clogged up and choked the pump. Remedy was a new return line and new pump.

By the sounds of it, it could be a hot electrical joint somwhere in the main harness. Try having a look around the relay bases and main wires in the relay box under the bonnet for starters.

ticking before dying? if you have a fuel pressure guage, there not hard to make if you dont, plumb it in and check you fuel pressure, ive had similar issues with my shitbox. at first i thought it was the reg, but a freind of mine suggested fueling pressure issue. fuel pump was fingered.
if it only does it when its hot, or stone cold, then id maybe lean towards the sensors divison. does it flash fault codes? if its starving and misfiring (ticking whilst running) it will get rather hot though.
wouldnt hurt to check the timing, people with half a brain often dont tighten the dizzy enough (ive had 2 5l's now come in with timing up to the shithouse because the dizzys moved due to mullets not tightening the bolt. a cut down 14mm ringy fits just nicely inbetween the firewall and the back of the donk.
    hope this helps a little.

when it stops its like it loses power in the front.sometimes when you turn the key after it has stopped you don't hear anything from the motor all you hear is the electric fuel pump then you can turn it off and back on again and you hear the fuel pump again, all the clicking under the bonnet and it starts but really stinks like fuel.

well, I hope you dont just part ways with it, BUT, if you do, let me know what you want fo the motor and gearbox.
