Okay so the car was unlocked before the keys got lost, does that mean the immobilizer is disabled?. Got a second hand bcm and matching key fob off my brother but the bcm that he gave us is a high version where is my original one is a low version and ive heard it has to be matching, got another barrel with matching key...so was wondering if the car is unlocked is the immobilizer off and if so could i put the new barrel in and start with its matching key or will i need a low version bcm with matching key fob.
Any help would be great need this car to get to work
I'm only guessing but the immob will be on, doors open or not. Just disconnect the battery which will kill everything, replace the bcm/barrel etc and reconnect battery. I think the higher bcm is OK as some people with utes put the higher one in so they can have power windows. Pretty sure you cannot blow anything but cannot guarantee. Good Luck.
