wont to replace electric aerial couple of questions

hi guys been looking at older posts and think i can replace my aerial, my electric aerial is only up and when i start/stop car i can hear clicking noise for about 5 seconds, guessing need to replace whole thing? and so all you do is take off passenger side mug gard thingy and it should be up there, so the cables just click in and out to new one? cheers daniel

Hi you could just replace the mast alot cheaper than the whole aerial

so im guessing if its "clicking" then the teeth on the rope are worn out?

Thats right, another comon problem is that the rope snaps about half way . As above , its pretty easy to replace the mast .

awsome question answered, ill have a crack this weekend and get new rope and mast tommorow. thanks mate.

mine works fine aside from the fact that when it goes down it wont go down all the way and sounds like its struggling for the last 5 seconds, any suggestions?

it could be that half the teeth are stripped pull the mast out & have a look i can replace a mast in a few mins
but if the plastic cord is snapped of in the aerial motor then it takes about half an hour
