From 1 V8 driver to another (well hopefully soon to be) go the V8, nothing beats the raw power and enjoyment you get from driving a V8.
hello fellow commodore owners
I've got a question for ya's.....![]()
i have a V6 ecotec engine in my VS commodore and the chance has come to get a V8 engine installed and i dont know whether to go for it or not.
Or should i get it blown (supercharged)....could any1 tell me which would give me more power and which one u guy's would go for...

charge the v8![]()
Some people say less talk more action, i say more torque less traction.
Why not Supercharge the 8?
Best of both worlds - hehe![]()
yeah but i dont have the money for both :b: :b:

get the v8 supercharge it wen u get the $$
what they said ^^^^^^^might want to sus out insurance before doing anything though
hope your not on your P plates either......spend more money for insurance than what you did for the engineim 17 with a v8 and my insurance is just below 3 grand this year
if u think the petrol prices are draining now with ur v6, wait till you install a 5 litre iron cast bent 8... hahah forget about going out and drinks. they drink MORE than an LS1Originally Posted by Holdenboy_VS

put it this way, youll take off quicker than 5 litre v8s. S/C ecotec in a vs is awesome.Originally Posted by Holdenboy_VS

I too would like to know this. installed price if possible as I haven't got the know-how to DIY cars.
* Phreddy's Blaupunkt Aux input and line out mod
* 18x8 inch Equus Kalibur Wheels with Maxxis MAV-1 235/40R18
* Sureflo 3.5 inch medium-loud cat back exhaust
Castlemaine rod shop have got a small one (http://www.rodshop.com.au/)
Centrifugal Air Pumps Australia have many (CAPA- http://www.capa.com.au/)
Or else get a factory supercharged L67. They have plenty of potential, are about the same price as the CAPA units, and I think are a direct changeover (or nearly) and then you have your ecotec to sell afterwards.
If you do fit an aftermarket supercharger, insurance will be hell (finding, paying) and the cops will give you a hard time. A V8 will also not be easy, but probably easier.

according to capa its about 5 grand, the rodshop has one for around 2000 maybe a lil bit more. fairly expensive but itll make your VS commodore go from 0-100 KM/h in around 7 seconds, give or take.Originally Posted by Holdenboy_VS
