vr vs auto internals

can anyone tell me if you can replace the internals of a v6 into a v8 auto

They are the same gearbox internally. No difference between the v6 and v8 box.

Thanks mate, I haven't been able to find a v8 auto up this way so I thought I might try using the internals from a spare v6 auto I have if they were the same
