Car Idle's to 200rpm in park

i own a 1995 VR Calais and it starts then it will idle up to 2000rpm in park and then drops down then the engine dies?????????

200 rpm in park?does it sound like it has a cam in it? Then you will have to check the vacum line underneath your throttlebody. it will hook up with the purge canister solenoid at the back of motor. Check all the vacum lines running off that.

Failing that take out IAC and give it a clean.

nah it is a stock with V6 commodore and i have just done a service and top end gaskets on it,

ill start the car and then it rev's its self to 200 rpm and then drop then die
