Default 96 VS (ECOTEC) Air-Intake Manifold Plenum ####ING FILTHY

Just a heads up for any others running the ECOTEC, you might want to take off your plenum cover and scrub the mother-####er coz it was ####ing filthy when I did it. burnt up chunks of rubber from the break assembly pressure release as well as burnt engine oil and petrol from the AFV.

Dude old news.... It's not from Brake dust either, its carbon build up.... WTF is a AFV? I'm going to take a guess and say Air filter valve... If that's correct there is no such thing as an Air Filter Valve on the Ecotec Commodores.

make sure you clean all the IAC and TB passages to, that will help more than cleaning the chamber.

Yeah, i used to clean my plenum every month or 2 and pulled off the throttle body at the same time and totally clean it out, kept it in tip top shape

Yeh i found the same thing inside my plenum. If you go buy a can of carby cleaner from coventrys (its like $3) that shit rips the hell out of that scum, justs dissolves. I also used that stuff on my throttle butterfly and down my trumpets ( used a toothbrush and rag) and there was definitely a performance gain from just doing that. $3 can of carby cleaner and elbow grease was all it cost, i was stoked
