Be careful mate, if i thought i had any hopes of getting away with it then id be driving a v8 as well.
Unless of course you converted a V6 to a 5ltr v8 yourself, that way scanners still read that its a 6, though if you do get caught doing that then im sure there's more trouble for you with not having an engineers cert for the conversion, ontop of the whole driving an unaccepted vehicle for your lisence.

What made you go buy a V8 in the first place? It's a pure & simple fact in the rules that P plater's in SA, NSW, QLD, VIC and I think they are trying to get it over in WA as well they aren't allowed to Drive any kind of High Powered Cars unless it is a Diesel. Why don't you sell off the 8 and buy a nice 6 with the cash? Get caught driving that it's goodbye to your license and a very very hefty fine. A guy got done for just moving a Turbo'd VL here in NSW, got a $950 fine and I think it was 12months loss of license. Could be different in VIC, but the point remains the same.

No you can't register as a 6 as on the rego papers there will be something stating the engine capacity or the engine number and this must match when you go to re-registered it, unless the motor has been change then an Engineering certificate is required.

It's sick pretty much no restrictions from full licenses, when I got my L's the only difference was p platers had 0.02 BAC instead of 0.05.

all you gotta do is put for sale on the window with a mobile number make sure it works coz they will check it, if u get pulled over just say its the only car u had available to drive and that you are trying to sell it , and i agree theres no need to attack her, im a p green p plater till the 27th of april and i believe that we are safer drivers (except for the morons) because we have to do more tests ( like hazzard prevention) etc

If this is the case, and not just a cover up for not wanting to look like a fool from all the above abuse, then you are still partially to blame for getting all the abuse, because the way you worded your initial question made everyone suspicious.

If you wanted to avoid the abuse from a public and open forum, you should have said 'I can't afford to buy a new car for my P Plates, due to work is there any way that I can legally drive my V8 on my P's in Victoria'? - rather than trying to dodge the system, like expecting people won't see your wang with a condom on it.
