I was wondering if anybody knows if there should be a rubber insulator between the strut bush and the
strut tower mount.
I have changed my front struts and bushes, now the top of the strut sits higher than before.
All nuts are torqued down tight.
Washers are in the correct way.
I cannot understand why the struts should now sit around 5mm higher.
Holden does not have a part listed for a strut tower insulator.
But it would make sense if it was there.
Anyone have any ideas?
no theres no insulator, if you have changed the strut mounts it should have less gap than before you pulled them out because its all new and the strut mount is at the right height not compressed.
Did you follow a workshop manual when doing the job?Its always good to follow one, even if you already know how to do it,I follow one every time im doing a job, just to make sure everythings done 100% correctly..Everyone makes mistakes from time to time,so it saves from making stupid or costly mistakes.I also use it a lot for the various nut/bolt tension specs..
^like how i keep putting the bumpstop upside down everytime i do the front suspension even thought ive changed my springs a few times in the last couple of months?
