OTR does basically nothing on the stock 6, doesn't get enough flow.

Extractor's and full exhaust is better money spent, but the gains won't be realised until you change alot of other components as well.

Cut a bigger hole in the bottom of the airbox for free and then extractors.

Thats right, the hole on the bottom of the airbox is the size of a 20 cent coin isn't it?

By cutting a bigger hole in the bottom of the airbox, there's less restriction of airflow. It's still pulling cold air from behind the headlight.

No it's about 15cm's roughly but even opening up the front of it works wonders.

OTR CAI from holden is about $100, K&N air filter $106 and a grounding kit, anywhere form $20 to $50. Also polishing the inside of your torrtlebody, plenum and intake manifold, $Free. That will get better throttle response, a little more power (more if you combine all of that) and a smoother engine.

Pacemaker extractors $450. But id suggest getting a custom y-piece made up too rather then modifying the stock one.

What i dont understand is how you could only offord either a CAI ($100) or a set of extractors ($450 from pacemaker). Altho i dont know the price of lukey, but i doubt itll be $100 for a set.

Oh fair enough. For some unknown reson, when you do multipul things, that work in conjuction with each other (IE: cai, filter, spark, leads and coils) youll get more power. Ill try explain it better, this is just make up power figures: CAI: 5kw, Filter: 5kw, Spark: 5kw, Leads 5kw, Coils 5kw. This is each of the kws you will gain for each mod as stated by the maker. That totals 25kw. But since you have done it all you would have gained atleas 30 to 40kw. Its hard to explain, but we had done it on a dyno change parts one by one and doing the math (ie put in new filter, do a run, put old filter in then do the cai, and so on) and it works out with the group in, you got a bigger increase. If you can follow my train of thought just then.

    FYI

Our BF XR6 work ute is struggling to make a 2kw gain on the dyno with the air filter lid removed (no filter) and the dyno fan blowing air into it.

Hmmmm......the whole is greater than the sum of the parts ?

I was using it as an example, cold air plus a higher flowing air filter will provide better throttle response rather then more power. You will see gains, but very little towards the wheels.

Why does no one ever listen to me. I know for a fact my home made cai is a million times better then that heat absorbing nightmare from Holden.

$250 vs free. Is the gains going to be $250 better? I don't think so.
