    Default VR V8 engine temp

Anyone who has a vr/vs v8, where does your temp gauge sit? Mine always sat just below quarter mark most of the time and go just over quarter mark on hot day. Put new radiator in was perfect for a week or so then got pretty hot out of the blue, took thermostat out ran like that for a coulpe of days and never got hot( as expected old thermostat was stuck). Put new thermostat in seems to be running warmer than it should and weather is pretty cool. It never used to get any where near half mark way in any conditions.

are you sure you got the same thermostat? you may have had an 81deg thermostat before and are now running a higher temp one?

Mine used to always sit about 1/3rd but it varies about with the electric thermo mans now, it goes upto just under half then drops to quater

My mechanic put it in so I'm not sure, Is there a big difference between 81deg and the others that run higher temp?

i run a higher temp one, it sits at about 1/3 normally, and about 1/2 with the a/c on, apparently the thermo fan comes on @ 3/4 so dont be alarmed

Mine generally sits around 2 lines from the bottom and slightly above in hotter weather. On the odd occassion it might jump up a bit further but will fall back down pretty quickly. A/C doesn't seem to make much of a difference.
